Pakistan PM Shahbaz offers condolences to UAE President over his brother Saeed Bin Zayed’s passing

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif offered condolences to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sad demise of his brother Sheikh Saeed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi on Friday. 

The Prime Minister conveyed the profound sympathies and condolences of the leadership, government and people of Pakistan to the president of UAE on his brother's demise, which was received with great warmth by Shiekh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Earlier, Shahbaz reached Abu Dhabi on a day-long visit to offer condolences over the death of Sheikh Saeed Bin Zayed.

According to a tweet by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE and senior UAE officials received the premier on his arrival in Abu Dhabi.

Shahbaz Sharif was accompanied by Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi.

Earlier, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said the premier would meet the UAE president during his brief trip and extend condolences to the latter on behalf of the Pakistani nation.

A day earlier, Shahbaz said he was “deeply grieved” at the news and extended condolences to the royal family and the people of UAE.

Shahbaz said the entire nation of Pakistan equally shared the grief of the brotherly country UAE, the royal family and the people of the UAE, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister Office.

He prayed to God to elevate ranks of the departed soul in paradise and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.

Meanwhile in his tweet, the prime minister said "I extend my deepest condolences and most sincere sympathies to my brother Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, the bereaved royal family and the people of the UAE. May God rest the departed soul in eternal peace! Ameen.”

Pakistan and the UAE are bound by close fraternal ties. Sheikh Saeed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was a sincere friend of Pakistan. His invaluable contributions will be long remembered by the Government and the people of Pakistan.
