The leader of the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community Sultan Al Bohra Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s sermon focused on the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) hadeeth, “All of creation is in need of Allah’s sustenance. The most beloved of all creation to Him, is the one who proves to be the most beneficial to His creation.”

Building upon the theme of benefitting to all creation, Syedna Saifuddin explained the benefits of rain to humankind, animals and plants and the need for its conservation.

He particularly highlighted the benefits and importance of rainwater harvesting. Syedna Saifuddin also encouraged members of the Dawoodi Bohra community to contribute to the betterment of the environment, societies and the nation.

Syedna Saifuddin is in the UAE for Ashara Mubaraka, the annual Muharram congregation which commenced this year on 19th July.

Syedna has delved into the universal values embedded within the statements of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) encouraging community members to live in harmony with all, contribute to the development of their countries, undertake small yet consistent efforts, adopt a business mindset and uphold the tenet of justice in one’s conduct.

Around 75,000 Dawoodi Bohra community members — 20,000 from the UAE and 55,000 from across the world — have come together to commemorate Ashara Mubaraka.

The central venue for the congregations is Masjid Al-Burhani in Al-Qusais, Dubai. There is a live telecast to other centres in the UAE including the World Trade Centre and community centres in Deira, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi & Ajman.

Additionally, resident and visiting community members in the neighbouring countries of Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, are also benefiting from the live telecast.

In his sermon, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin also appreciated the efforts taken by various committees like accommodation, transport, food, seating arrangements and other facilities to ensure that guests coming from all parts of the world are able to participate in the best manner possible.
