Emirati astronaut Neyadi captures the stunning image of a commercial jet in the skies of Iraq from space
The image shows a commercial jet flies over Iraqi airspace.
Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi monitored a commercial plane flying in the skies of Iraq from International Space Station.
Neyadi shared the picture on Twitter.
Al Neyadi commented, "I took this picture with a 400 mm lens camera of a plane flying in the skies of Iraq while we were passing over it. Commercial planes usually fly at an altitude of about 10 km above the surface of the earth, while the height of the International Space Station exceeds this number by 40 times."
Commercial aircraft fly at an altitude of 10 kilometers, given that the light air in it allows them to fly smoothly, and helps to cover distances more quickly, in addition to the fuel economy.
Airplanes also resort to this altitude, in order to avoid air turbulence that occurs at low altitudes, in most cases, which means that a higher altitude increases the safety rate.
