The Abu Dhabi Police have shared video clips of reckless motorists suddenly deciding to exit main roads leading to major accidents and chaos in Abu Dhabi

The police urged motorists to avoid such malpractices that endanger their and other road users’ lives.

Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Follow-up and Control Center and within the "You Comment" initiative, broadcast a video of an accident due to the sudden deviation.

The video shows a speeding sedan car suddenly exiting the main road and driving into the concrete divider, causing the car to turn turtle and causing a traffic jam.

In another clip, an SUV sharply changes lanes from the middle of the road to take an exit but lands up hitting the concrete divider. However, the damage is not that serious.

The police said that motorists who do not abide by the traffic laws might face legal action along with hefty fines.

The police may put black points on the reckless motorist’s licence and impound the vehicle for some months.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to avoid sudden deviation, to avoid overtaking other vehicles in a wrong way, to ensure that the road is clear in the event of overtaking or moving to the other lane, and not to move between lanes in a reckless manner that exposes the driver to danger, and to ensure that you use the correct lane in the event of moving to another road.
