The UAE will witness the longest day of the year on Wednesday, as the sun appears to be perpendicular to the Tropic of Cancer (23.27 degrees north) and thus a higher temperature will be seen in most areas across the country, signaling the start of the summer season.

Meanwhile, rains of varying intensity fell on separate areas across the country. Heavy rains fell on Al Shuwaib in Al Ain City, while light rains fell on Lehbab in Dubai. The lowest temperature of 20.8 degrees Celsius was recorded on Monday in Muzeira’a in Al Dhafra Region at 5:45 UAE local time.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on the public to take caution during the heavy rains and strong winds coming from cumulus clouds in some eastern and inland areas, which may lead solid objects to fly and horizontal visibility to drop.

Tuesday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy with low clouds appearing in the east in the morning and a chance of cumulus clouds that may be possibly rainy on mountains in the afternoon, the NCM said.

The weather will be humid at night and on Wednesday morning with a chance of fog or light fog over some coastal and inland areas, it added.

Light to moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active and sand-stirring at times during the day at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, it said.

Wednesday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy at times in the east but will be humid at night and on Thursday morning with a chance of fog or light fog over some coastal and inland areas, it added.

Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active and sand-stirring at times during the day at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, it said.

Thursday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy in general but humid at night and on Friday morning in some coastal and inland areas, it added. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active and sand-stirring during the day at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, it said.

Friday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy in general and humid at night and on Saturday morning in some coastal and inland areas with the temperature tending to drop, it added.

Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active at times, especially offshore, at 15 to 25 and up to 40 km/h, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves but will be rough in the west of the Arabian Gulf compared to regular to moderate waves in the Sea of Oman.
