UAE Police arrest a gang for growing marijuana at residence

The Anti-Narcotics Department at the Umm Al Quwain Police arrested a gang of Asians for planting drug bushes (marijuana) and promoting narcotic substances. The gang reportedly planted the drug bushes in their residence.

Commenting on the incident, Major General Sheikh Rashid Bin Ahmed Al Mualla, Commander-in-Chief of Umm Al Quwain Police, stressed the importance of the role of anti-narcotics teams in combating drug crimes.

He also hailed the great effort to protect the society and fight this scourge, which is considered one of the most serious threats to security in the country.

For his part, Major Jamal Saeed Al Ketbi, Head of the Anti-Narcotics Department, stated that verified information had been forwarded to the department about a number of people peddling narcotic substances.

Accordingly, all necessary measures were taken and competent a team from the anti-narcotics department was entrusted to arrest the suspects, who were nabbed red handed in an ambush.

Through the inspection, amount of cannabis (marijuana) were found in their residence. Consequently, they were arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal actions.

The GHQ of Umm Al Quwain Police also appeals to the public, to continue cooperating with the security authorities, through reporting any acts that may threaten security in the country, by contacting “Mokafeh” toll (80044) or through the Ministry of Interior’s website or its smart platforms.
