Dubai civil defence douses fire in a wooden boat in record time

Firefighters extinguish fire in a wooden boat in Dubai.

The Dubai Civil Defence brought under control a moderate fire that broke out in a wooden boat. No fatalities were reported as a result of the fire.

Earlier, the Dubai Civil Defence’s operations room received a report at 3:27am on Monday stating that a fire erupted in a wooden boat.

Fire engines from sea rescue firefighting station - Al Marfa point rushed to the scene of the fire and arrived there at 3:33am, achieving a response time of six minutes.

The fire was found to have erupted in a wooden boat and was described as moderate.

Accordingly, specialised teams from Al Hamriyah Fire Station moved for support and backup and were engaged in evacuation and firefighting operations. 

At 4:15am, a signal was received from the fire commander that the fire was under control without any fatalities and that the necessary measures were underway.

At 8:44am, a signal was received from the fire commander that the scene was being doused and would be subsequently handed over to the competent authorities as per the procedures followed.
