Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended last night a reception hosted by Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, the Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, on the occasion of his country's National Day.

Present at the event held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Abu Dhabi were Nooh Saleh Ahmed Al Hammadi, Director of Department of East Asia and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps accredited to the UAE, and members of the Filipino community in the country.

The Philippine envoy extolled the wise policy of President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed.

In his speech, the Philippine Ambassador praised the wise policy of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the relations between both countries. He stressed his country's keenness to strengthen cooperation with the UAE in all possible areas.

The envoy appreciated the UAE's support to the Philippines during crises and natural calamities, especially its support for those affected by Mayon Volcano eruption in Albay province of the Philippines, which damaged properties and displaced thousands of residents.
