Man jumps off bridge in front of his wife and child in Sharjah

A 35-year-old Asian man committed suicide by jumping off bridge near Sahara Centre in Al Nahda, Sharjah.
A report was received by the Operations Room of Sharjah Police General Command at 9:00 pm last Wednesday, alerting that an Asian threw himself from the top of a bridge connecting Al Nahda and Sahara Centre on the main road.
Instantly on receiving the tip off, police patrols and the National Ambulance rushed to the scene, where the man was immediately taken to Al Qasimi Hospital, but he died due to his severe injuries.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was married and had a child.
At the time of the incident, he was in the company of his wife and child on their way to home.
According to the wife's statement, her husband was jobless and suffering from financial hardship, affirming that while they were returning home from Al Nahda Park with their child, he suddenly stood on the bridge and then jumped down.
Buhaira Comprehensive Police Station continue the investigations to complete the legal procedures, in preparation for handing over the body of the deceased and the death certificate to his family.
