Horrifying scenes emerge from China’s Hubei province after a severe storm destroyed restaurant canopy, sending workers flying in the air.

The meteorology body said that 70mph winds were reported in the Hubei province.

Social media users shared video clips showing workers and diners in a Chinese restaurant flying in the air while trying to hold down the canopy due to strong winds.

The clips showed the workers trying to hold on to the poles of a large canopy above them, so that it would not fly away, but it flew and some workers flew with it.

The injured were taken to the hospital immediately.

The clips show the workers trembling with fear due to violent winds that swept through the place, which prompted them to cling on to an umbrella that was above them, but it did not hold and blew away.

As a result, some workers were injured, and they were taken to hospital.
