VIDEO: Three British tourists missing after a boat catches fire off Egypt’s Red Sea coast

A huge fire broke out on a tourist boat during a diving trip in the Marsa Alam region, south of the Red Sea,  which led to the urgent intervention of rescue teams.

The fire consumed the entire boat, and 26 people were rescued from the huge fire, and 3 other tourists from Britain are being searched for.

The competent authorities received a notification of a fire in a “tourist boat” called Herken, carrying 29 people, between Egyptians and foreigners, on board, during a diving cruise.

12 foreign tourists were rescued, in addition to 14 Egyptians, who are the crew of the boat, while the search is still going on for 3 missing tourists, according to the report.

It was found that the boat departed on June 6 from Marina Porto Ghalib, and was scheduled to return on Sunday.

The tourists were rescued and taken to the shore of the village of Marsa Al Shajara.They are all in good health.

The search is still going on around the boat for 3 missing British tourists.The competent authorities were notified to conduct investigations.
