Dmitry Oshchepkov, a Russian tourist, thanked the Dubai Police for their speedy response to his report and their keenness on making him happy by restoring his iPhone 14 Pro, which contained essential files and information.
Lieutenant Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, Head of Maritime Rescue Department, said that the Command and Control Centre of the General Department of Operations received a report from a tourist in Hatta area in which he stated that his iPhone had fallen into the water while he was in a boat on Hatta Dam water.
The phone contained very important information, pictures and memories and he needed help to find, he said.
The marine rescue men start searching for the iPhone but could not find it due to the lack of visibility but a team of frogmen inquired from the tourist about where his iPhone had fallen in Hatta Lake and managed to find it in a jiffy, he added.
The graduation ceremony marked the completion of English and computer science courses and training sessions for 98 inmates (males and females).
The pupils also conducted 126 field visits to Dubai Police's smart police stations, where they welcomed customers and briefed them on the fully-automated police station that offers smart police services round the clock and without human intervention.
The workshop, held at the Sofitel Dubai Downtown Hotel, gathered 185 employees from 15 hotels to familiarise them with the safest ways to serve Dubai visitors and tourists and ensure their happiness and satisfaction.
