Up to Dhs20,000 fine for violations related to visa and Emirates ID in UAE

According to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), fines between Dhs20 per day and up to Dhs20,000 are imposed on 14 categories of administrative violations related to Emirates ID card services, residency and foreign affairs services, depending on the type of violation.
ICP clarified that fines for identity card services are applied to two types of violations, the first of which is delay in registration to get an ID card and delay in renewing it after 30 days from the date of its expiration.
The fine in this case is Dhs20 per day, with a maximum of Dhs1,000. Fines are also applied to 6 types of violations of residency and foreigners affairs services at a value of Dhs500, which include: Submitting transactions to the passport officer which do not belong to the establishment the representative works for, submitting transactions via e-dirham which do not belong to the establishment the representative works for, the expiry of the representative’s card, not showing his card when submitting transactions, violating the work system in the service centres, and finally non-compliance with the pledge submitted by persons to the ICP.
The ICP clarified that there are 3 fines of Dhs5,000 on these violations: Misuse of the system, obstructing the work of employees, not cooperating with them, or non-compliance of the system users to pay service fees, in addition to submitting inaccurate typed transactions, the value of which is Dhs100.
The fine for providing incorrect data amounts to Dhs3,000, while the fine for issuing visas or entry permits for an establishment which does not carry out any activity is Dhs20,000, said ICP.
It stated that all Emirati citizens, GCC citizens, expatriates and residents who were not able to get or renew their identity cards or the cards of their sponsored on the specified date can apply for exemption from delay fines, provided that they meet the exemption conditions.
Specific groups can benefit from exemption. These include the individual who left the country and spent more than 3 months outside, the resident whose residency expired while he was outside the country (after the date of departure), provided that this is proved by the date of exit on his passport.
Also the list includes the individual whose ID expired after being deported on the basis of an order, an administrative decision, or a judicial ruling, or the person whose passport has been seized pending lawsuits or because of its renewal, provided that this is proved by a letter or a receipt from the authority that deported him or suspended him pending lawsuits, or through a passport renewal receipt.
The list also includes patients with an infectious disease, a clinically incapacitated persons, or a person with a total or partial disability, provided that this is proved by a medical certificate issued by the competent authorities in the country, members of diplomatic missions and consuls in embassies and consulates within the UAE, the elderly (70 years and over) who are unable to head to the customer service centres, provided that this is proved by submitting a family book, a passport, or any other approved document stating the age of the individual.
Also persons subject to social security and their sponsored are on the list, provided that their status is proved by an official certificate issued by the Ministry of Community Development (MOCD) or the competent authorities, and the person who has not been issued an ID before obtaining the UAE nationality or before obtaining the family book, said the ICP
It also said that a person is also exempted from fine if the delay was caused by an error on the part of the authority or one of the typing offices assigned by it, which led to the delay in registration or renewal of the ID card.
