UAE announces first-ever Labour Market Award

Dr Abdul Rahman Bin Abdul Manan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), announced on Wednesday the launch of the first edition of the Emirates Award for Leadership in the Labour Market under the sponsorship of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Vice Chairman of the Cabinet, Minister of the Presidential Court.

Dr Al Awar while making the announcement during a press conference held in Dubai, said that the aim of the award is to enhance the competitiveness of the labour market.

"It is also meant increase its productivity, efficiency and honour outstanding practices in the field of work environment, protect and stimulate labour rights, and enhance the level of well-being and quality of life of the workforce in private sector establishments," Al Awar said..

In June, MoHRE will start receiving applications for candidacy for the first round of the award, which was approved by the Cabinet in March 2023, according to Dr Al Awar, who explained that the award, which is organised annually, reflects the keenness of the UAE’s wise leadership to enhance the competitiveness of the country and accelerate the pace of building an integrated economy among the most active, diversified, strong and growing economies in the world.
