33-year-old Emirati artist who was the iconic voice of the character 'Um Saeed' in 'Freej' passes away

A young Emirati actor and voice artist Majid Al Falasi passed away at the age of 33 on Sunday. According to media reports, Falasi was the voice actor of the character “Umm Saeed” in the famous cartoon series “Freej.”
The creator of "Freej" Mohammed Saeed Harib said that Al Falasi died on Sunday, May 7.

Emirati influencers thanked him for all the happy times he gave them, praying to God to accept him with the abundance of his mercy and forgiveness, and to grant solace and patience to his family and loved ones.
Falasi was born in 1990.
Al-Falasi began his artistic career in 2006, when he participated in the performance of the voice of the character “Umm Saeed” in the series “Freej”.
It is a social comedy that tells the stories of the residents of Haret Fereej in Dubai, and shows an aspect of their heritage and culture.
He is survived by a wife and two children.
Majid's voice gave a touch of movement and enthusiasm to the character "Umm Saeed," which is considered one of the funniest characters in the series.
Prominent Emirati writer Amani Al Matrooshi expressed sadness over his death.
Amani said that Falasi’s voice drew a smile on our faces, and happy times. May Allah have mercy on him and grant him paradise…”
'Freej' was created by animator, creator, and producer Mohammed Saeed Harib in 2006.
'Freej' follows the lives of four women who wear traditional clothes and reside in houses designed in the old style in Dubai. They discuss the Arabian heritage and the contemporary developments.
The show's title is a reference to "freej", a term which means "neighbourhood" in Emirati Arabic.
