His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, directed the support of Sudanese people stranded in the country due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan, and providing their needs.

Sheikh Mohammed directed the immediate support and follow-up of the Sudanese people stranded in the UAE, providing them with health care and shelter, in addition to working with all the competent authorities to ensure their safe return to their country at a later date.

Earlier, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid directed the dispatch of urgent humanitarian aid to the brotherly Sudanese displaced citizens affected by the recent conflict in their country.

Sheikh Mohammed affirmed that the UAE is always keen to support its brotherly countries. His Highness stressed the depth of the bilateral relations between the UAE and the Sudan, and the cultural and historical ties between both countries.

The aid will be delivered in the form of food and ration parcels through the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) to the most affected groups of Sudanese displaced citizens.

Meanwhile, the UAE strongly condemned the storming of the cultural attaché mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, by an armed group, which resulted in vandalisation and theft of property.

The UAE stressed the importance of protecting diplomatic missions according to the norms and charters that govern and regulate diplomatic work. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability in contravention of humanitarian values and principles.

The Ministry stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to secure a ceasefire and to return to the political process and dialogue to achieve progress in the transitional phase, in order to reach the desired political stability and security in Sudan.
