A videograb shows a woman police officer rescues an elderly man.

An elderly man was rescued by a Railway Protection Force’s (RPF) female officer from falling under the wheels of a train leaving a station in the Indian state of West Bengal.

The horrifying video shows the RPF Constable Pallabhi Biswas running towards the man.

In a second frame, the man is seen clinging onto the train window in a bid to save himself from falling under the wheels of the train, but his grip gives way and he falls on the platform but part of his body hanging over the edge of the platform.

The Pallabhi trying to get a hold of the man manages to pull him to safety.

The elderly person then gets up and checks his belongings as more officers arrive at the scene.

The train also comes to halt.

RPF India said on Twitter, Women Power: From creating to saving lives.

In the face of danger, #RPF Constable Pallabhi Biswas acted with swift courage and saved the life of a passenger at Purulia station.”

Netizens have praised the female officer for saving the life of the elderly person.
