The Abu Dhabi Police, in co-operation with the Monitoring & Control Centre, arrested a reckless driver for committing two traffic violations; namely, tailgating and dangerously overtaking cars from the road shoulder. This led to traffic confusion and put the safety of other drivers in jeopardy.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate called on motorist not to overtake cars from the road shoulder, which is designated for emergency cases and vehicles to get easy access to accident sites and save lives.

The directorate also urged them to avoid tailgating in order to have enough space to deal with sudden stops of vehicles without warning, to respect traffic rules and driving ethics and to avoid wrong behaviours on roads.
