Pakistan, India and Bangladesh celebrate Eid Al Fitr with religious zeal and fervour

Eid Al Fitr was celebrated across India, Pakistan, Iran and Bangladesh on Saturday with religious zeal and fervour.

Eid congregations were being held at open places, mosques and Eidgahs in all major cities and towns in these countries.

The Ulema (clerics) in their sermons highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid Al Fitr.

In Pakistan's federal capital, the main Eid congregation was held at the Faisal Mosque where top government officials and envoys of Muslim countries offered Eid prayers.

Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

Muslims across India on Saturday are celebrating Eid Al Fitr by offering prayers. In Delhi, people hugged each other after offering prayer at Delhi’s Jama Masjid.

Except for the historic Jamia Masjid in old city's Nowhatta area of Srinagar, Eid prayers passed off peacefully across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Authorities disallowed offering of Eid prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of Srinagar because of security reasons.

In Srinagar, the largest gathering was held at Hazratbal mosque where hundreds of devotees offered Eid prayers.

A large number of people also offered Eid prayers at the Peer Dastgeer shrine/mosque in Khanyar area of Srinagar.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif offered Eid prayer in Lahore as well. Strict security measures are in place throughout the city to avoid any untoward incident.

A large number of Eid congregations were held at mosques and imam bargahs besides open places in all parts of the Lahore city. The largest Eid congregation was held at historical Badshahi Mosque where Punjab Governor Muhammad Baleegh ur Rehman offered Eid prayers along with the public.
