The Dubai Criminal Court imprisoned a 34-year-old Asian worker for 3 months, to be followed by deportation after serving his sentence. The Appellate Court upheld the verdict.

The suspect was charged with infiltrating into a women’s residence inside a residential complex in the Ras Al Khawar area in Dubai.

He allegedly attempted to assault a woman while she was sleeping in her room, before she woke up and drove him away.

The victim's roommate filmed the suspect while he was trying to flee.

The details of the case date back to December 2022, when an Asian woman filed a report stating that a person had sneaked into her room and attempted to assault her.

She said that she felt someone touching her feet, so she screamed and her roommate woke up, who saw the suspect standing in front of her friend's bed, so she asked him about his identity.

The victim added in the interrogations that the suspect asked her to be silent and not to scream, so her roommate called the security officer and told him that there was a person in their room, and that she filmed him while he left the room until he left the apartment, where he fled through the corridor leading to the elevators.

The building's security employee stated that by checking the surveillance cameras, it was found that the suspect lived in the men's residence building on the opposite side, and accordingly, the number of the apartment in which he lived was determined, and he was arrested.

On being questioned, the suspect denied the crime, claiming that he did not remember his actions because he was under the influence of alcohol.
