Hailstorm, accompanied by moderate rain, blanketed the streets of Taif just before the Iftar on Wednesday.

Layers of hail formed in the roads, streets, and empty spaces led to stoppage of traffic in the region.

Many vehicles stopped for some time and many people got off to see that cold condition that brought pleasure, which had not been seen before except on television.

Photographers and mobile phone users took many pictures and widely shared on social media platforms.

The Taif Municipality field teams used specialized machines to clear the roads and neighborhoods.

The Municipality said that the field teams succeeded in removing the ice and restoring traffic to normal on the road, noting that it is working according to a plan to contain the effects of rain by following up on meteorology forecasts.

The Municipality indicated that more than 90 field teams dealt with rainy conditions in Taif and its suburbs.
