The Dubai Police officers blocked traffic on a busy highway to rescue a scared cat hiding on the pavement on Wednesday.

The police personnel and animal rescue officials systematically blocked the traffic on what appears to look like the busiest Sheikh Zayed Road.

The officers lured the feline as motorists patiently wait for the rescue operation to finish.

A video circulation on social media with the caption, “Thank you #Dubai_Police…” praising the police unit for the noble act.

This is not the first time Dubai Police officers have rescued animals.

In October 2022, Dubai Police officers rescued a falcon that got entangled in a tree in Hatta.

A police officer climbed climbs the tree and freed the bird.

The same year, officers rescued a locked-out dog from a balcony of a highrise in Dubai.

The Dubai Police have launched the Police Eye smart platform that empowers community members to report suspicious activities and collaborate with police to keep the city safe.

Residents have been urged to join the force in building a safer community through the Dubai Police website.
