Back in the 70s, the popular German-Caribbean music band Boney M. sang a song that still resonates among middle-aged babyboomers. The song was ‘Bye Bye Bluebird’ whose lyrics went like this:

‘Bye bye bluebird, bye bye bluebird
You were lots of fun to know
But I have to let you go…’

The song comes to mind after Twitter boss Elon Musk dumped the popular bluebird homepage logo and replaced it with the Doge meme.

With the move, Musk fulfils his promise he made to a user last year. The user had asked him to change the bird logo.

One user commented, "Promises made, promises kept," while another said, "Thanks for making Twitter fun again! #Dogecoin to the moon!" according to Indo-Asian News Service.

The price of the dogecoin cryptocurrency spiralled by over 30 per cent after Musk removed the bird to make way for one of the coin’s Shiba Inu dog.

His move came after his lawyers entreated a federal judge to throw out a $258bn lawsuit accusing the entrepreneur of manipulating dogecoin’s price and driving it up by 36,000 per cent.

The billionaire Musk is as eccentric as one can get. Recently he tweeted a photograph of his puppy Floki sitting in the company CEO’s chair, with the caption: "The new CEO of Twitter is amazing. So much better than that guy!”

Former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and two other top executives were sacked moments after Musk took over as head of the social media platform.

Musk later stated that the dog was excellent with numbers and had style sense.

Several users shared their thoughts on Musk's post.

A user said, "I think he was the only crazy one to take the job.”

Musk replied: "He is best for the job."
