A state of unstable weather is forecast for the country from Sunday to Tuesday, with opportunities of rain over separate areas, the National centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.

It explained that the UAE would be affected by an extension of a surface depression from the southwest, with a weak upper depression extending from the north. This is accompanied by formations of high and medium clouds moving from west to east, with opportunities of rainfall.

“The weather during that period is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy with the chance of light to medium rain over separate areas, starting from the west to extend then to some coastal, northern and eastern parts of the country,” the NCM said.

Some rainy cumulus clouds may develop over the eastern areas, especially on Saturday and Sunday, the NCM added.

The winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate in speed, fresh at times, and raising dust along the open areas. The sea will be mild to moderate, to become rough offshore at times, especially when clouds tower over the Arabian Gulf, and mild to moderate in the Sea of Oman, according to the NCM.

The NCM also indicated that the weather on Saturday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy and dusty at times, and cloudy during the night and on Sunday morning over some western areas.

It is also expected to be humid by night and on Sunday morning over inland areas with a probability of mist formation. The winds will be fresh to moderate, northwesterly, stirring dust and sand during daytime, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching up to 40 km/hr. The winds speed may decrease on Sunday. The sea will be rough to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to mild in the Sea of Oman.
