Saudi Arabia signs $400 million agreement for Ukraine aid

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Farhan Bin Faisal visited Kyiv to sign an agreement under which Riyadh will provide humanitarian aid and financing for purchases of oil derivatives purchases.

Saudi Arabia signed an agreement and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ukraine, the Saudi foreign ministry said on Sunday.

Prince Faisal Bin Farhan led the Kingdom’s delegation and was received by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the presidential residence in Kyiv.

"We hope this helps ease the suffering of the Ukrainian people during this humanitarian crisis,” he said of the agreement that is worth $400 million.

It is an implementation of the pledge made by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in October 2022 on providing an additional humanitarian aid package to Ukraine.

Saudi foreign minister and Andriy Yermak, head of the office of the president of Ukraine, attended the signing ceremony.
