UAE President tours IDEX, thanks exhibitors and partners

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan toured the 16th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) on Tuesday.

This year's edition, which began on Monday, coincides with the 30th anniversary of the launch of IDEX.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, accompanied by Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, visited a number of pavilions and platforms for national and international companies and entities, which displayed the latest developments in the defence and military industries sector in terms of advanced technology, systems and mechanisms.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed's tour included the pavilions of the UAE, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Russia, China, France, Serbia, the United States and Korea.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed was briefed by representatives of the participating countries and companies on their innovations in equipment manufacturing and their production of advanced defence technology systems.

The UAE President stated that the organising of IDEX over the past three decades emphasised the UAE's approach of building bridges of communication and cooperation with the world with the aim of achieving peace, stability and a better future for humanity.

His Highness extended his thanks to the exhibition organisers and partners and expressed his appreciation for their contribution to the ongoing success and development of the event.

During his tour, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed welcomed the participants, exhibitors, countries and international companies.

Stressing the importance of communication and cooperation between representatives of defence institutions, companies and governments, to find the best ways of cooperation and enhance the defense capabilities of different countries.

The meeting touched on the participations of their countries and their most prominent displays, and the defense industries sector’s advanced technology and systems in their countries, as well as the importance of the opportunities offered by IDEX, to exchange experiences and visions among the participants, on many issues and topics related to defense manufacturing and its technologies, and providing opportunities.
