The Seismological Center in the Sultanate of Oman announced, on Sunday morning, that an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale had struck the city of Duqm.

This comes hours after Turkey was hit by a strong earthquake again, in the city of Kahramanmaraş, on Saturday evening, 12 days after the devastating earthquake that hit it.

The earthquake caused panic among the residents of Kahramanmaraş, who have not yet recovered from the effects of the disaster that befell them recently.

The magnitude of the new earthquake ranges between 5.1 and 5.4 degrees, according to preliminary reports by the Turkish media, while no new losses were reported in the cracked buildings.

It is noteworthy that at the dawn of February 6, an earthquake of 7.7 degrees struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed hours later by another with a magnitude of 7.6 and hundreds of violent aftershocks, killing and injuring tens of thousands.
