VIDEO: 9 injured in Ajman residential tower fire

The civil defense teams in cooperation with the Ajman police were able to control a fire that broke out in a residential tower locating in the Louloua residential complex in Al Rashidiya 1, on Friday.

The patrols and civil defense squads managed to evacuate the tenants of the tower, while the flames had been completely contained and extinguished, followed by conducting the cooling operations, which are still ongoing till the moment of writing the story.

This was revealed by Major General Sheikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, who attended the scene and supervised the distinguishing and evacuation operations.  

He stated that the fire caused suffocation of nine people, who received the necessary medical treatment at the scene by the National Ambulance, while two people with moderate injuries had been transferred to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital for further treatment.

The fire also damaged the external facade of the tower, which caught fire on one side, as it extended to a number of apartments, the Commander-in-Chief added.

Separately, a massive fire erupted in a lubricants factory in the industrial area of Ajman at 3:30 am on Friday.

The firefighting teams swung into action quickly to control the fire, which gutted the factory, a residential building, a publishing house, and a number of warehouses and vehicles that were at the site.   

The civil defense teams were able to control the fire with a support from Sharjah, Dubai and Umm Al Quwain in the firefighting operations, as well as a support from the Ajman Police.  

This was in the presence and follow-up of Major General Sheikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, and Brigadier Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi, Director General of Police Operations at Ajman Police, and Colonel Raed Obaid Al Za’abi, Director General of Ajman Civil Defense.
