Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) affirmed that a fine of Dhs100 will be charged for every 30 days or less spent outside the country when applying for the new entry visa for residents who have been outside the UAE for more than 6 months.

ICP clarified that there are 4 steps, which must be followed to obtain this permit, First: submitting the application from outside the UAE, and this can be done after 180 days of staying outside, and upon approval of the application, the entry must be done within 30 days, including the date of approval of the application, with submission the reason for being outside the country for this period.

The new service also includes all residencies approved within the system of services provided by the ICP, and allows activating the residency again and entering the country with the same residency after the approval of the ICP.

The ICP pointed out that residents can apply for a permit application through the authority’s smart services system, or the smart phone application “UAEICP,” with a fee of Dhs150, or through customer happiness centres, or typing offices approved by the ICP.

It is worth mentioning that last week, the ICP activated the service of entry permits related to residents who have been outside the country for more than 6 months, with the aim of delighting customers and enabling residents who have valid residencies, and were forced to stay outside the country for study, work or treatment for a period of more than 6 months.

Approval of the application requires submitting a copy of the Emirates ID, a copy of the passport, and attaching the reason for the delay outside the country during that period.
