The Islamabad police conducted the country’s largest constable recruitment process. More than 30,000 male and female candidates from all over Pakistan appeared in the written examination for 1,667 constables that the Islamabad police are recruiting.

Police said that there was a shortage of personnel for the last five years, which will be met through this recruitment. At least six senior police officers are playing an important role in all this recruitment process. Police said that foolproof security arrangements were made for all stages of the examinations.

Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Akbar Nasir congratulated all the administrative officers for carrying out the process in a transparent manner.

He thanks the candidates for maintaining discipline. Apart from the written examinations, the candidates, who would clear it, would undergo different physical tests.

Dr Nasir said that after the recruitment of more than 1,500 constables, the shortage of the force would be taken care of to a large extent.

He said the police had approached the federal government to beef up the force a number of times. However, the present regime paid heed to the call and allowed the force to make the new recruitment.

The IGP said that due to the increasing duty of the force in Islamabad, the police needed to have the requisite personnel.
