Rain of varying intensity, accompanied by lightning and thunder hit separate areas of the country on Tuesday, and temperature dropped as a result of the weather condition which affected the country.

Rain started to fall at 7.00am on Emirates Road, on separate areas in Ras Al Khaimah, and on Sharjah Al Dhaid Road.

Moderate to heavy rain also fell on Abu Al-Abyad Island and other areas in Abu Dhabi, on Tarif and Jasioura in the Al Dhafra region. The NCM affirmed the end of the state of weather instability which started last Sunday until Wednesday, as a result of the region being affected by a surface depression from the southwest, coinciding with an extension of an air depression and a westerly air current in the upper layers of the atmosphere, which resulted in the movement of various cloud formations from the west towards the country in the form of successive waves.

Wednesday's weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with the formation of some cumulus clouds accompanied by rain during the day, especially in the coastal, northern and eastern regions, the NCM affirmed.

Winds on Wednesday will be southwesterly to northwesterly, moderate to active and strong at times, at a speed of 15 to 35, amounting to 55 kilometres/h, and the sea will be turbulent to very turbulent at times in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to turbulent in the Sea of Oman.

Thursday's weather, according to the NCM will be generally partly cloudy, with the appearance of low clouds over some northern, eastern, coastal and island regions.

It will also be humid at night and on Friday morning, with the possibility of light fog formation in some internal areas.

Thursday's winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, according to the NCM.

NCM expects the weather on Friday and Saturday to be clear to partly cloudy in general, with the appearance of low clouds over some eastern and coastal areas and islands.

It will also be humid at night and on Saturday morning, with the possibility of light fog formation over some internal areas.

Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, brisk at times, and the sea will be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.

The NCM appealed to individuals to exercise caution while driving during the rains, and with the lack of horizontal visibility, due to Rainand dusty winds.
