The UAE has been selected to host the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ministerial Conference in 2024, the authorities have announced on Monday.

The UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan celebrated the news and praised the tireless efforts made by the delegation to win the position.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said, “The UAE is honoured to have been selected as the host country for the World Trade Organisation Ministerial Conference in 2024. We look forward to facilitating constructive dialogue between WTO nations and strengthening international cooperation for a sustainable economic future.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also tweeted about UAE being selected as the host country.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid said, “164 countries in the World Trade Organisation will hold global trade development talks at the beginning of the year 2024 in the UAE... We welcome the participating countries... We welcome the World Trade Organisation... and we support all international moves that guarantee the free flow of goods and services between different countries of the world and protect the future of global trade.”
