‘We pledge to continue our country’s progress,’ says UAE President

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message on the occasion of the country's National Day.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, sent similar messages.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said, “December the 2nd holds a special place in the story of the UAE, when our nation’s founding fathers joined together to establish the Union. As we celebrate our 51st UAE National Day, we pledge to continue our country’s progress and to keep striving to fulfill our shared ambitions.”

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid said, “The second of December is the beginning of the union... and a renewed beginning every year for the UAE... and the beginning of a coming stage in which energies... efforts... and experiences... are united to build the best country... and make the people of the union happy. May God protect the UAE and perpetuate its goodness, honour and glory.”

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, said on Twitter, “December 2, 1971... a day that will remain immortal in the pages of history.

“Zayed, Rashid and their brothers established a state that does not know the impossible... Today, under the leadership of Mohammed Bin Zayed, Mohammed Bin Rashid and the rulers of the Emirates, our country is moving forward towards a bright future for our dear people. Congratulations, my country, on the 51st Union Day.”

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said, “As the UAE celebrates its 51st National Day, we recall the vision, wisdom, and leadership of our founding fathers who forged a true unity that continues to provide strength and prosperity.”
