Morning shows the day. The cloudy weather at the start of Tuesday in the UAE meant only one thing: that it could start raining. Which is exactly what happened. The probability became a reality. Pretty soon, raindrops kept falling on the country, much to the people’s delight. Many caught out in the rain started scampering for cover.

The rain had an effect on the traffic as it slowed down. There were long tailbacks. The damp weather however did not dampen spirits of the residents who welcomed it with open arms: it was like a breath of fresh air.

The pleasant weather made many make a beeline for the beaches.

If there is one song which would look odd in the UAE it is this: ‘Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day. Daddy wants to play. Rain, rain, go away. Rain, rain, go away.’ In an area which sees quite hot weather for a good deal of the year, a drizzle or a downpour is always welcome.
