Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi handed over to Juma Al Majid an honorary doctorate at his home.

Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, handed an honorary doctorate from the University of Sharjah on Wednesday, to Sheikha Jamila Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, and to Juma Al Majid, President of the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and heritage.

The honouring of Sheikha Jameela Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi and Juma Al Majid comes by awarding them an honorary doctorate based on the decision No. 53 of the University of Sharjah Board of Trustees, and based on the university regulations to grant this degree to public figures with great roles in serving the community.

In the university’s main building, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi awarded Sheikha Jameela Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi an honorary doctorate in recognition of her outstanding contributions and the significant efforts she made to serve the community with dedication and sincerity.

In her speech, Sheikha Jameela Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi thanked His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and Founder of the University of Sharjah, for his unending support for the advancement of science and knowledge in the Emirate of Sharjah. She also extended her thanks and gratitude to Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, President of the University of Sharjah, and the University’s Board of Trustees for their high confidence in granting her this honour.

Sheikha Jameela  also congratulated Juma Al Majid for being awarded an honorary doctorate degree in honor of his long efforts in community service.

Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, delivered a speech at the ceremony of handing over the honorary doctorate degree by highlighting  part of the march of Sheikha Jamila Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, and her various great works in the humanitarian and social fields, and in supporting and integrating people with disabilities, indicating that she devoted her efforts to promoting the advancement of society by calling for the inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities and their families in society

In his speech on this occasion, Al Majid extended  his deep appreciation to His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his great interest in science and education, and his generous sponsorship of many universities, schools and scientific institutions inside and outside the country.

He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his attendance and visit to him, and for granting him this great honour that he is proud as the University of Sharjah embraces lofty scientific status and prestigious level of knowledge.

Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi gave a speech in which he narrated the biography of Juma Al-Majid, referring to his great efforts during the past years in establishing science houses, building cultural and heritage associations, and his contribution in the field of preserving and collecting historical manuscripts, economics and charitable works.
