The Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Prosecution referred the manager of a human resources consultancy company to the court on charges of employing workers on other’s sponsorship without complying with the terms of the sponsorship.

The suspect employed seven workers who were seized by the competent authorities.

The Nationality and Residence Court fined him Dhs400,000 according to the number of violating workers in the case, while the violating workers were fined Dhs1,000 each, and ordered to deport the country on charges of working for someone other than the sponsor and staying in the country illegally.

Counselor Faisal Abdul Malik Ahli, head of the Nationality and Residence Prosecution, said that the suspect, the owner of the facility, was arrested after two female workers who were employed by him informed the security authorities that they worked for several families but sacked and did not receive their salaries according to the contract.

By questioning the owner of the company, he confessed the charges, adding that he was on the sponsorship of the facility and was responsible for employing the suspects without obtaining the necessary approvals from the competent authorities.

Abdul Malik added that investigations revealed that the seven workers came to the country on a visit visa, and worked for a human resources consulting facility on an expired visa and on the sponsorship of others, between one and 12 months, during which they received their monthly salaries for a job as a sales executive, document printer, short film coordinator, and archival clerk.

The owner of the company and the seven violating workers were referred to the Nationality and Residence Court, that fined each worker Dhs1,000 on the charges of working for a non-sponsor and staying in the country illegally. They were ordered to deport, and also fined the facility owner Dhs50,000.
