UAE plays key role in addressing regional and international challenges, says Mohammed
Sheikh Mohammed attends the 31st Arab League Summit in Algiers.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that the UAE plays a prominent role in addressing the critical challenges facing us at the regional and international levels, on the basis of strengthening solidarity and joint Arab action, and giving priority to resolving conflicts by peaceful means, giving priority to humanitarian relief, maintaining peace, addressing global health crises, in a spirit of solidarity, supporting women’s empowerment, emphasizing the role of youth in building nations, harnessing the potential of innovation and advanced technology, and developing the international system to combat extremism and terrorism.
Sheikh Mohammed said that in light of the unprecedented challenges facing our Arab countries and the world, we have an urgent need to intensify work, increase the pace of Arab coordination and cooperation, and resolve the crises in the region, in order to spread hope, optimism, unity, peace and tolerance.
These values are the basis of the approach of the United Arab Emirates since the era of the founder, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his founding brothers, may God bless their souls.
Sheikh Mohammed in a speech during the meeting at the summit said that the UAE's choice is that the slogan for this stage is "peace, recovery and prosperity," within an open regional and international framework.
It is based on the rules of international law, and a solid network of regional and international relations, for joint cooperation in the fields of economy, sustainable development, advanced technology and scientific research, and to overcome challenges and confront existing threats.
The UAE is keen to continue its commitment to building a knowledge-based and diversified economy based on scientific and technological progress and strengthening the economic and development partnership in our region.
Today, we are witnessing the emergence of a society for progress in the Middle East that will form a pillar for joint action around major global priorities, as the UAE is moving forward rapidly to enhance capacity.
The competitiveness and sustainability of its economy, and the exploration of new opportunities, due to its firm conviction that strong multilateral partnerships pave the way for more opportunities available to the peoples of the region to achieve vital development and enhance stability and prosperity. We strive to make our country a global capital for investment and innovation.
