A masked man caused outrage on social media after a video surfaced of him trying to set vehicles on fire by pouring oil under them, and fleeing the scene.

The Riyadh police succeeded in arresting him, according to what Saudi media reported on Friday.

The circulating clip caused anger among the social media users, who demanded the arrest and punishment of the perpetrator, and within hours the Riyadh police announced the arrest of the perpetrator of the incident.

An official statement by the Saudi Public Security, which was published on his Twitter account, said: “Security patrols in the Riyadh region arrested a citizen who appeared in a video clip on social media as he poured a flammable substance around three vehicles, in front of a house east of Riyadh, ignited it and fled the site.”

The investigations of the Saudi security revealed that the reason for the perpetrator’s action was that there was a dispute with one of the sons of the owner of the house, stressing that he was arrested and legal measures were taken against him, and referred him to the prosecution.
