Saudi King appoints Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman as Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, issued three royal orders, on Tuesday, which included the appointment of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman as Prime Minister of the Kingdom, and the re-formation of the Council, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The first royal order stipulated that “Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, shall be the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers; as an exception to the provision of Article (56) of the Basic Law of Governance, and from the relevant provisions contained in the Council of Ministers system,” provided that King Salman presides over the Cabinet sessions he attends.

The foreign minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, the finance minister Mohammed Al-Jadaanand and the investment minister Khalid Al-Falih kept their positions in the new cabinet.

The second royal order came to reconstitute the Council of Ministers as follows:

1- Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, as Prime Minister.

2- Prince Mansour Bin Miteb Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of State.

3- Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Energy.

4- Prince Turki Bin Muhammad Bin Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of State.

5- Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Bin Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Sports.

6- Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Minister of Interior.

7- Prince Abdullah Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Minister of the National Guard.

8- Prince Khalid Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Defense.

9- Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah Bin Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

10 - Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture.

11- Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of State.
