The Sharjah Police General Command has called on motorists who make light accidents, without injuries, to take their vehicles off the road and stop them on its shoulder, or at the nearest safe point, in order to preserve their safety and the safety of others.

Major Abdullah Al Mandhari, Head of Traffic and Patrols Department, explained that the stopping of some motorists in the middle of the road, due to a light traffic accident, which did not result in injuries or major damage to the vehicle, may jeopardize their safety and the safety of others, or it may obstruct traffic and delay the arrival of police and rescue patrols to the scene.

Al Mandhari called on motorists not to gather in the places where accidents take place, in order to avoid traffic fines. He explained that it is a negative phenomenon which exacerbates injuries and deaths, and impedes traffic, noting that the fine of obstructing traffic (gathering) during accidents is Dhs1,000 according to Article No (74)) of the Traffic Law.
