A video of UAE Armed Forces personnel fixing a flat tyre of a woman stranded on a highway has gone viral.

Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, shared the video on his Instagram stories.

Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed said a soldier in the armed forces changed the tire of an Asian woman's car whose vehicle broke down on the public road.

The video was shot by the woman, who is believed to be of Pakistani origin.

The woman speaks on the video, “See the UAE army… How they help everyone. Our car had a flat trye… the army came on their own to help us.”

The woman then asked the officer’s name… and said thank you so much, you are so nice… I salute this army.

The woman then addresses her viewers on social media about the incident and thanks the UAE army.

The incident is believed to have taken place in Abu Dhabi.

This is not the first UAE authorities to have helped residents stranded in the streets.

In 2020, Sharjah Police helped residents who were stranded on a highway when their vehicle had a flat tyre.

It was a usual day for a Sharjah family. The family members were commuting in their SUV when they had a flat tyre on the outskirts of the emirate.

A Sharjah Police patrol car was on duty in the area. The policeman noticed the distressed residents and pulled over.

The vehicle owner explained the situation to the officer and asked for help.

The officer swung into action and asked them to calm down, took note of the tyre size and told them to wait.

The officer got into his car and went to the nearest tyre shop and got a spare tyre for the residents.

The policeman himself fixed the tyre in the car. The residents were speechless with the humane act of Sharjah Police.

They kept on thanking the police officers for help.

The UAE authorities have urged residents to adhere to traffic laws. They also called upon vehicle owners to inspect their cars before embarking on a journey, especially a long one.

The authorities have been advocating summer campaigns which aim to raise awareness and encourage drivers to adhere to speed limits designated on the road, in addition to ensuring tyre safety to avoid accidents as the summer approaches.
