Al Ain Court of First Instance ordered a parent to pay a private school Dhs116,000 as tuition fees for his three children enrolled in the school for the 2020-2021 academic year, after the school filed a lawsuit against him and demanded the amount.

The details of the case date back to an earlier time, when the school filed a lawsuit demanding that the parent pay it Dhs116,000, besides the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and lawyer’s fees.

The school indicated in its lawsuit that the amount demanded were the registration fees of the appellee’s three children who were registered with it in the academic year 2020/2021, stressing that he refused to pay these fees.

The school attached to its lawsuit a copy of the contract of agreement concluded between it and the appellee, and the judge supervising the case instructed the school to provide evidence that the appellee’s children were registered with it during the requested school year, the total tuition fees for each student, the amounts already paid, and the remaining tuition fees.

The school also provided a copy of the appellee’s children’s registration status statement and an account statement for each student.

During the hearing of the case, the appellee did not attend and did not provide evidence of payment of the tuition fees owed by him, and consequently the court ordered him to pay the school Dhs116,000, well as the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and lawyer’s fees.
