Heavy rain hits several areas of Al Ain, motorists cautioned

Heavy to medium rain was witnessed on on separate areas across the UAE on Wednesday.

Light rain started to fall on Khatm Al Shiklah in Al Ain City at 4pm, moderate rains fell on Hili and Al Foah, turning to heavy rain on Hili Industrial Area in Al Ain and a number of others areas.

The lowest temperature of 23.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jebel Al Haban in Fujairah at 6:15am, while the highest temperature of 45.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Wetied in Al Dhafra Region at 2:30pm UAE local time.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on the public to exercise extreme caution during heavy rain and low horizontal visibility and to stay away from flooded valleys.

The Abu Dhabi Police also called on drivers to be cautious due to the low horizontal visibility, abide by speed limits and not busy themselves in using their mobile phones or taking photos.

Thursday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy sometimes, with low clouds appearing on the eastern coast in the morning, possibly turning to cumulus clouds in the afternoon, the NCM said.

Light to moderate south-easterly to north-easterly winds will blow, turning sometimes to active and sand-stirring during the day at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h. the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, it added.

Friday’s weather will be clear in general and partly cloudy sometimes in the east, with low clouds appearing on the eastern coast in the morning. It will be humid at night and on Saturday morning on some western coastal areas, possibly with light fog.

Light to moderate south-easterly to north-easterly winds will blow, turning to active sometimes at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h. the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Saturday’s weather is expected to be clear in general and partly cloudy sometimes in the east, turning to humid at night and on Sunday morning on some coastal and inland areas, with chance for fog or light fog, particularly in the west.

Light to moderate South-easterly to north-easterly will blow, turning on active sometimes at 15 to 25 and up to 35 km/h. the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
