Coinciding with the new academic year 2022-2023, the “Safety Ambassadors Council” at Dubai Police has recently visited 25 public and private schools to familiarise students and academic staff with the safety ambassadors programme, which aims to raise the awareness of children on their rights and protect them against harm, abuse and violence.

Fatima Al Beloushi, Head of the Safety Ambassadors Council at Dubai Police, confirmed that the Council has full support from the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri. She added that the Force spares no effort to ensure that communication channels with the police are available to all segments of society in general and children, in particular, to ensure they are well-informed on the best ways to protect themselves against negative phenomena and report offences and abuses they may experience or witness.

Al Beloushi further noted that the Council strives to strengthen the collaboration and cooperation with educational partners and qualified volunteers to conduct awareness field visits to schools and engage with the students.

It is worth noting that the “Safety Ambassadors Council” has 1,150 members, of which 645 are male students and 505 females. The members represent 115 private and public schools and have been qualified over the last two years to spread awareness among their community members and peers at schools.
