The Abu Dhabi Labour Court rejected a hospital’s appeal against a court ruling obligating it to pay a nurse who worked for it Dhs60,000 dues, a travel ticket or its value, and an experience certificate.

The details date back to an earlier time when the nurse filed a labour lawsuit demanding that the hospital pay her dues, including late wages, leave allowance, end of service gratuity, overtime for holidays and vacations, warning allowance, compensation for unfair dismissal, a travel ticket, legal interest, certificate of experience and expenses.

The nurse indicated that she worked for the hospital with a monthly salary of Dhs15,000 until the termination of her services, but the hospital did not pay her dues.

The Court of First Instance obligated the hospital to pay the nurse Dhs60,000 and a ticket or its value unless she joined another job, and an experience certificate.

The court refused any other requests and obligated the hospital to pay the expenses and fees of the lawsuit.

The hospital appealed the verdict, calling for it to be rescinded but the court to dismiss the case, pointing out that the nurse signed a settlement after the end of her relationship with it, but the appeal was rejected.
