Woman asks man to buy her a phone, refuses to pay for it in Abu Dhabi

The Al Dhafra Court of First Instance obligated a woman to pay her friend Dhs3,100, the value of a mobile phone he had bought for her.

The court pointed out that the appellant provided a proof of buying the phone and that the appellee promised to pay its price.

The details of the case date back to an earlier time when the appellant filed a lawsuit against the appellee, in which he demanded to obligate her to pay him Dhs3,100, besides the fees and expenses.

The appellant indicated that he agreed with the appellee to buy her a phone for Dhs3,100 provided that she would pay the full price after two months, but she did not.

He presented copies of the messages of his financial account movement, proving the purchase, and translation of text messages proving the agreement to buy the phone and the promise to pay.

The court indicated that the documents submitted by the appellant proves the agreement to buy and promise to pay.
