His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stressed that the human element is the basis and the most important component in enhancing the positive influences which charitable and humanitarian initiatives make in the lives of millions of people, and achieving its lofty goals around the world.

Sheikh Mohammed tweeted in a post on his account on the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day, "Workers and volunteers in humanitarian initiatives make the largest and most important positive impact in the lives of millions of people, thanks to the integration of their efforts as they give their time, energies and attention to those who most likely need help and support, motivated by the bonds of humanity.”

Sheikh Mohammed appreciated the role of humanitarian workers saying, “I am proud of the pioneers of humanitarian work, and of all belonging to this honourable field, individuals and institutions... Their ideas, efforts and giving contributed to the consolidation of the UAE's position and distinction as a global capital and an international arena for launching humanitarian work and activating successful partnerships for relief and support of the needy, the weak, and those who must be the first to help.”

Sheikh Mohammed added: "With the integrated efforts of 145,000 employees and volunteers in our initiatives in 2021, we were able to help 90 million people in 97 countries... the future will witness more achievements. We welcome the Humanitarian Action Day by renewing our commitment to make every effort and provide all possibilities. We will continue to empower, qualify and support cadres and mobilize energies for the prosperity of the charitable industry and humanitarian work, and the expansion of its fruits and effects around the world. If there is a brother in humanity, wherever he is, we will support and help him.”
