The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases obligated a man to pay a woman Dhs10,000 in compensation for the material and moral damages she incurred after he verbally threatened her.

The Criminal Court convicted him and fined him Dhs5,000.

The woman filed a lawsuit against the man, demanding that he pay Dhs51,000 in compensation for the material and moral damages she incurred, besides the fees and expenses of the lawsuit.

The appellant said the appellee had verbally threatened her.

The court indicated that the penal verdict which convicted the appellee became final and conclusive, and therefore it must rely on it to establish the error necessitating compensation.

The court ordered the man to pay the woman Dhs10,000 in compensation besides the fees and expenses of the lawsuit.
