Many regions of the country experienced rain.

Rains of varying degrees of intensity lashed separate areas of the country on Tuesday, as a result of the country being affected by the oscillatory movement in the north of the Arabian Peninsula, which resulted in a rise in temperatures, and the formation of rainy clouds, accompanied by lightning and thunder. This reportedly will continue until Thursday, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). 

Light to medium rain started to fall on the west of Madinat Zayed and on Atab and Ghayathi in the Al Dhafra region.

Moderate rain fell on Khatm Al Shkla in Al Ain, light rains fell on Dafta in Ras Al Khaimah, and heavy rain on Mlaqat and Sa`in Al Ain and other areas of the country.

The lowest temperature, 22.9°C, on Wednesday was recorded on Jebel Jais in RAK at 4:15 am, while the highest temperature, 48.2°C  was recorded in Jebel Dhanna in the Al Dhafra region at 12:00 pm.

The NCM appealed to the people to be vigilant during heavy rain and strong winds formed due to convective clouds that covered some eastern areas, which may lead to low horizontal visibility. It is also advised them to keep away from the flowing valleys.

The NCM expected that Wednesday’s weather will be dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of convective rainy clouds forming in the east in the afternoon and extending over some interior and southern regions.

Winds on Wednesday are expected to be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, active and strong at times, stirring dust, at a speed of 20 to 30 amounting to 60 kilometres/hour.

The sea on Wednesday is expected to be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

Thursday’s weather will be dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of convective rainy clouds in the afternoon over some eastern and southern regions, the NCM indicated.

Thursday winds, according to the NCM will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, active and strong at times, and stirring dust.

The NCM expected that the waves will be light on Thursday in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

Friday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with the possibility of some cumulus clouds forming in the east in the afternoon, and southwesterly winds turning to northwesterly and northeasterly, light to moderate, active at times, stirring dust at a speed of 15 to 25 up to 40 kilometres/hour.

The waves on Friday are expected to be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
