Saudi Arabia opens doors for women to join security services

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia decided to reinforce the female cadre in the General Directorate of Public Security with female volunteers with the rank of soldiers.

The General Department for Central Admission at the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Military Affairs announced the opening of admission and registration for the General Directorate of Public Security, General Traffic Department, with the rank of soldier for the female cadre.

The Department revealed that the opening of admission will take place as of Saturday until Thursday through the “Absher - Employment” platform.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior also announced the opening of registration for the females for joining the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom.

Earlier, the General Department of Central Admission at the Ministry of Interior for Military Affairs announced the opening of admission and registration at the General Security of the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah Security (soldier) for females.

In 2020, the Saudi Arabia’s Armed Forces have inaugurated the first women’s wing.

Reema Bint Bandar Al Saud, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United States of America, took to her social media to share the news.

According to the Chief of the General Staff, First Lieutenant General Fayyad Bin Hamid Al Ruwaili, the female military section was launched to attract and meet the needs of the female component of the armed forces branch.

The wing plays an important role in Saudi Arabia’s initiative of inaugurating women into the building of the country.

The women can be recruited in different official capacities in the Royal Saudi Land Forces, Royal Saudi Air Force, Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces, Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Force, and Armed Forces Medical Services.

Saudi women have been actively breaking into different work sectors in the kingdom.
